Doing Our Best
Welcome to Cub Scouts Pack 850!
We offer a family-friendly program designed for boys from Kindergarten to 5th grade. We proudly service the Orange/Villa Park Community and are proud to be members of the Canyon’s District of the Orange County Council of Boy Scouts of America. Our program emphasizes leadership, community service, family understanding, character development, citizenship training, nature and personal fitness. Our scouts learn a variety of resourceful skills ranging from knot tying to basic camp culinary skills. Our camping adventures often introduce scouts to new activities such as archery and bb shooting. With every activity or skill, they learn they are rewarded with achievements such as a pin or a patch.
We are chartered by the Villa Park Rotary Club. We meet monthly at Cerro Villa Middle School.
Our Pack has been honored with many top level awards including The Journey to Excellence Gold Award (highest level) as well as many other Quality Unit Awards presented by The Boy Scouts of America. We appreciate all the hard work our parents and leaders (past and present) have committed to our pack and our boys for these achievements. The Pack is always looking for additional help and volunteers.
Our Scouts Are ALWAYS Prepared
The age-specific activities allocated to the dens of our pack help prepare our scouts for the adventures awaiting them in the outdoor world, while simultaneously keeping a fun learning environment. Scouting gives the whole family an opportunity to take in the fun awaiting us at every turn. There are no small adventures.
We Want YOU!
Pack 850 is currently recruiting boys from (but not limited to) Orange-Olive, Villa Park, Handy, Oakridge Private, Nohl Canyon, Prospect, Eldorado Emerson Private, Esplanade and Serrano Elementary Schools: We welcome ANY prospective scouts from any and all of our local schools. Fundraising for Pack Activities
Our Pack provides us with a variety of services and activities free of charge by means of fundraising. We participate as a whole in two major fundraising activities within the scouting calendar year, these are popcorn sales and scout-o-rama discount card sales. We ask that in order to continue providing our awesome pack activities every scout volunteer for two 2 hour sales shifts at each fundraiser. Inability to allocate the time for sales shifts is a foreseen predicament as we know there is a constant juggle of activities. Thus we offer a $50 opt-out donation that can be made directly to the pack. That donation can be made at a pack meeting or online here. All Orange County District Packs are chartered by a local organization.
